Our Impact:

More Than Robots.

The mission of FIRST robotics is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities. Over the past year, students on Team 195 have volunteered 4,389 hours in our community.

STEM Outreach

The STEM movement within our outreach structure aims to provide access to technology education to everyone in our community and beyond.

These efforts include:

  • DIY STEM Kits with Southington Public Library

  • STEM @ Home Videos

  • ElderKnights Programs (Lego Building & Tech Class)

  • Southington Apple Harvest Festival and Parade

  • Unofficial After School Robotics Team

  • STEM for ALL - over 300 yearly attendees

  • Girls Who Code program

FIRST Development

Through FIRST Mentoring & Volunteering, we promote the values of FIRST by giving back to the program that we love. We do this by volunteering at events and competitions, as well as coaching local FLL teams, such as:

  • Run and mentor 22 FLL Teams

    • 233% increase from 2023​

  • WaterWorks- STEAM Classes

  • Hosting our own FTC Event

  • Hosted and ran FLL Qualifier + FTC Scrimmage

    • 250+ Attendees​

  • Volunteering at FRC competitions

  • Our own practice field open to all teams

    • Used by over 18% of Connecti​cut FRC teams
